The following positions are available to individuals who desire to serve within C.A.R.E. Medical Center. Please note that positions involving direct contact with the patients/clients require an application and background security check. Volunteers can be involved in more than one position.

Medical Clinic
Volunteer
Patient Advocate
This volunteer position is for those who desire to be a safe and calming support for patients coping with the possibility of an unplanned pregnancy who may be in crisis. The Patient Advocate position is comprised of meeting one-on-one with patients to discuss information relevant to a positive or negative test in a manner that promotes life and Christian values. Patient Advocates will also assist with greeting patients in the reception area.
Training: Equipped to Serve Training Course (approx. 30 hours, which includes observations and role play), plus attend in-services trainings
(approx. 4-6 hours/year)
Time Commitment: Minimum of one 4-hour shift weekly, one -year commitment.
Volunteer Nurse
We welcome volunteers with a degree in nursing to join our medical team. This position allows you to use your nursing skills and gives you the ability to educate women on their choices by providing evidence-based information. You will also be trained for the Patient Advocate role.
Training: Equipped to Serve Training Course (approx. 30 hours, which includes observations and role play), plus attend in-services trainings
(approx. 4-6 hours/year)
Time Commitment: Minimum of one 4-hour shift weekly, one -year commitment.
Volunteer Receptionist
Are you detailed oriented and enjoy speaking with people? You might enjoy volunteering as our receptionist. In this position, you are the first voice or person our patients encounter. You will be answering phones, taking messages, making appointments, and greeting patients as they check-in for their appointments.
Training: Equipped to Serve Training Course (approx. 30 hours, which includes observations and role play), plus attend in-services trainings
(approx. 4-6 hours/year)
Time Commitment: Minimum of one 4-hour shift weekly, one -year commitment.

Volunteer FutureImpact Speaker
This volunteer position is for those who have a passion for teens and experience in public speaking. As an abstinence-based program, FutureImpact speakers present to middle and high school audiences, both Christian and secular, on a variety of topics including decision making, sexual health and relationships.
Training: In-House Training (approx. 12-16 hours)
Time Commitment: Minimum availability to speak: 1x/month with a one-year commitment.

Volunteer BrightCourse Mentor
This position is for volunteers who enjoy interacting with clients one-on-one providing ongoing support in a structured setting. BrightCourse Mentors will view the same video lessons as their clients and be prepared to meet regularly with clients to discuss the online BrightCourse video lessons and homework (approximate one-hour appointments) to offer support and encouragement. Meetings with clients will take place on-site at C.A.R.E. Medical Center.
Training: Training on the BrightCourse Curriculum basic mentor training (approx. 2-4 hours)
Time Commitment: Varies. Shifts are flexible but need to be consistent. 2-6 hours/week is preferred
Volunteer Monthly Mom's Support Group Facilitator
This position is for volunteers who enjoy interacting directly with clients in a group setting. They may also have the opportunity to teach on particular topics related to motherhood, parenting, etc. They could benefit from skill in facilitating small group discussions and desire to support, encourage and mentor women.
Training: Training on the BrightCourse Curriculum basic mentor training (approx. 2-4 hours)
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours every second Thursday of the month
Volunteer Boutique
Helper / Inventory
Coordinator
